It refers to a natural formation of rocks that resemble the layout of traditional Japanese tatami mats, the key scenic spot along the river. Our certified Rafting Association of Japan Guides, a.k.a RAJ Guides ensure a safe, secure, and, most importantly, enjoyable journey. This half-day escapade, lasting approximately 3 hours, includes photo data to capture those unforgettable moments. The Arakawa Line downstream boating in Chichibu Nagatoro lets you ride upon the beautifully layered stone riverbed, which is designated as a natural monument. It is a relaxing course with a couple of thrills along the way, but perfectly safe for children or seniors to enjoy as well. While listening to the boatman's entertaining guiding, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms in the spring, the cool breeze in the summer, the beautiful colors of autumn, and the warmth of the kotatsu (heated table) boat in the winter. In other words, a perfect outdoor activity regardless of the season!

This Japan-themed trick art museum features four distinct zones like the Edo Time Slip and Ninja House Experience, letting both children and adults have a blast. Originally constructed in 1928 as a recreation center for the Chichibu Railway Company, the Yurin Club was later relocated to this site in 1980. Visitors can also find a plaque inscribed by Eiichi Shibusawa, the "father of Japanese capitalism," who played a significant role in founding banks and corporations in Japan.

Plum planting began in 1986 at Ume Hyakkaen Garden. You can enjoy about 170 varieties of plum flowers, including rare ones such as the early blooming red plum during the winter solstice and the three famous flowers of the moon, mangetsu, tagoto, and soumei. From mid-February, about 470 plum are in full bloom, and the fragrant plum scent spreads all the way to the summit.

Hodosan Shrine is known for its large white torii gate. Its founding is said to date back about 1900 years, when the mountain was given its name “Hodosan,” which means the "mountain that stops fire." Hodosan Shrine is believed to give blessings that protect against fire and theft.
