Saitama City has many facilities where you can learn about Japanese cultural practices, such as bonsai cultivation, and about Japanese technological advances that are popular around the world.

Tokyo Station
30 minutes on the JR Utsunomiya Line. 5 minute walk from Toro Station.
Omiya Bonsai Village
This is one of the few bonsai villages existing in the Kanto Region. You can tour 6 different unique bonsai gardens.
JR Utsunomiya Line, via Omiya Station. Connected directly to Tetsudo-Hakubutsukan Station (Omiya Station) on the New Shuttle.
The Railway Museum
The Railway Museum opened on October 14th of 2007 in Saitama, Ōmiya as part of Japan Railways (JR) Group’s 20th-anniversary commemorative project. The newly renovated South Building was opened in July of 2018, with the permanent exhibition of the main building renewed extensively. Through this renewal, the inside of the building has been divided into stations of 5 categories: rolling stock, history, jobs, science, and future, updating the museum to tell the rich story of the relationship of humans and railways from unique and diverse perspectives.
New Shuttle Omiya Station → JR Utsunomiya Line/Takasaki Line. 12 minute walk from Saitama Shin-Toshin Station.
Mint Museum (Saitama Branch)
At the Mint Museum you can observe Japanese currency and medal manufacturing methods, and view valuable old coins and medals on display. There is also an interactive corner where you can pick up a box of 1,000 Ryo coins, and make a medical certificate using coins you have on hand.
