The shaved ice at Kawamuraya, a famous pickle shop in business for over 200 years and loved by local residents, is known for its mildly sweet flavored syrup made with rice malt. After the shaved ice season is over, the restaurant continues to offers lunch plates incorporating its famous pickled onions, alongside a variety of healthy curries and sandwiches. *Normally reservations are not available to customers, and you may need to wait in line. If you would like us to make a special reservation on your behalf, you may contact the Saitama Tourism Support Desk directly at 048-788-5336. Please note that the Saitama Support Desk is only allowed to make one reservation per day, and the reservation is available on a first-come first-serve basis.

The Railway Museum opened in Omiya, Saitama City, on October 14, 2007 as the main project to commemorate the 20th anniversary of JR East. In July 2018, the new South Wing was opened and the permanent exhibits in the Main Wing were completely renewed. This renewal has transformed the museum into a museum that develops a rich story of people and railroads from a variety of perspectives by dividing the museum into five stations : rolling stock, history, work, science, and the future.
