Those seeking a unique way to experience the gorgeous natural surroundings of Nagatoro should check out the Nagatoro River Cruise. Take a short walk from Nagatoro Station down to the river bank, where boatmen await groups of 20 passengers to steer them down the Arakawa River. On the cruise you can get a close-up view of the rock cliff faces and foliage that border the river. Most of the cruise is quite tranquil, but there are some rapids along the way as well for a bit of excitement!

A boat ride down the Arakawa Line in Chichibu Nagatoro is the perfect outdoor activity regardless of the season, where you will ride over the beautifully-layered stone riverbed, which is designated as a natural monument.
