You won’t want to miss this! For this year’s Tanbo Art, Gyoda City is featuring a portrait of Tanjiro Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, in celebration of the Japan release of the anime film Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle on July 18, 2025.

Tanbo art, or rice field art, involves planting different colored rice to create large, detailed designs best viewed from above. This year, over 1,000 local volunteers came together over two days to plant more than 10,000 rice seedlings across a 2.8-hectare field. You can see the artwork from the 50-meter-tall Gyoda Tower, located in the city’s Ancient Lotus Park.

The page on Gyoda City’s official website offers details about the rice field art initiatives, showcases past artworks, and highlights related events. Please visit the link for details: Official Gyoda City Website

Whether you’re a Demon Slayer fan or simply want to see this incredible rice field art created by the locals of Gyoda, this is a must-visit, so make sure to check it out before October!
