This park, located on a hill overlooking the city, surrounded by lush greenery, is famous for its shibazakura (moss phlox) and cherry blossoms. This place has been a getaway for citizens needing a break from city life for many years. There is also an area with athletic facilities for children to play, and exhibition halls such as Mt. Bukou Museum and Yamato Art Museum.

Chichibu-Meisen Museum

The building was built in 1930 and was registered as a Tangible Cultural Property in 2001. At the Chichibu Meisen museum, you can learn about the history of Chichibu Meisen, view the exhibits, and try your hand at stencil dyeing and weaving. All the equipment displayed in the museum is still in use, and if you are lucky, you can even see it in action.

The large hot spring facility, “Seibuchichibu Ekimae Onsen Matsurinoyu”, makes Chichibu’s specialty, “festival”, its concept. Matsurinoyu has four types of open-air baths and a highly concentrated artificial carbonated hot spring, with six bathhouses in the inn (five bathhouses for men) to be enjoyed. In this area, which takes pride in its rich variety of hot springs, there is also a Japanese style food court and an area selling local products perfect as souvenirs, making this facility packed full of Chichibu areas charm.

A temple for safe childbirth, safe growth of children, and protection from evil. The main deity of the temple, Nyoirin Kannon, or Cintamani-cakra, is said to be the Goddess of Mercy and Wisdom, who has a wish-fulfilling jewel that removes evil and purifies the clouded mind, relieves suffering, and bestows prosperity by giving gold, silver, and treasure. In the precincts of the temple, there are three-story bluestone pagoda of the three Amida deities from the Muromachi period (1336-1573) and a mound of writings from the first year of the Hōei era, where women wrote their wishes and stored them.
