It is one of the most prestigious shrines in the prefecture, and since it is dedicated to Mt. Omuro, which is considered to be a sacred mountain, there is no main shrine, making it one of the few places that still display the traditional form of Shinto belief. There are only two other shrines such as Kamana Shrine in Japan. The Suwa Grand Shrine in Nagano and the Oomiwa Shrine in Nara. The origin of the shrine is said to be when the god Yamato Takeru Nomikoto hid the tools of fire in Mt. Omuro. The shrine also enshrines the god of the sun, Amaterasu Omikami, and the god of storm, Susano Onomikoto.
Purchases can be made from 1 piece of sembei (Japanese rice crackers). We have more than 30 flavors available. The hot spring that flows from 1,500 meters below ground, scored a maximum score of a 5 under 6 categories during the inspection by the Japan Natural Hot Spring Examining Authority! With the ingredients much like the salty, spicy seawater, it is called “Netsu-no-yu” due to the fact that it takes a lot for the water to go cold. What’s also appealing is that the natural hot spring can be enjoyed, during the warm season, without adding heat or adding water. The high-concentration carbonated spring, which even gathers the attention of the medical industry, can be enjoyed as well.

In 1970, the Gogaku Kenshujo (lit. village school training institution) Foundation was established on the site of the former Japan Farmers' School founded by Dr. Masahiro Yasuoka in the early Showa period. In 2012, the official name of the foundation was changed to "Gogaku Kenshujo / Yasuoka Masahiro Memorial Museum," and it has been working to promote Gogaku (the study of the countryside) and to pass on to future generations the teachings and anthropology of Dr. Yasuoka Masahiro, which are needed in this day and age, while continuing the tradition of the Japan Agricultural School.
The sakura garden in Gongendo is a hot spot for cherry blossoms, thanks to the 1000 Yoshino cherry trees that line up along a stretch of 1 km. Surrounded by beautiful yellow rapeseed, this place is a popular destination for spring explorers. Furthermore, in June, you can enjoy stunning Hydrangea, in September the vivid red Spider lily, and in January, charming white Daffodils. A wonderful spot to visit, regardless of the season!
Within the park, there is an open lawn space and a large wooden play equipment, with families crowding the area throughout the year. Flowers of each of the seasons are planted within the park, the sakura season as might be expected, moss phlox (April to May) and Iris (early June) warms the heart and is enjoyed. Houses of farmers who are responsible for the production of Miyoshi-machi’s specialty product “Fuji-no-kawagoe-Imo” are lined up on the highroad. During the season, banner-flags are risen and a range of products can be bought directly from each farmer which is something that can only be done at the district of production (from September to January). There are also farmers who sell ice cream and yōkan made by Fuji-no-kawagoe-Imo and shōchū. In addition, there are large Japanese zelkovas on both sides of the highroad which is another highlight.
Harvesting can be experienced throughout the year with tomato and strawberry picking in the spring, eggplant and blueberry picking in the summer, chestnut picking and sweet potato digging in the autumn, and finally harvesting broccoli, onions, and radishes in the winter. Also, barbecue, camping (mess kit for rice making), and classes of Kazo City’s famous handmade udon are available. From late March to the end of November, there will be a stage show of popular characters among children such as Pretty Cure, Kamen Rider, Anpanman. On a day with clear weather, it will take place on the stage outside while on a rainy day, it will take place at the family building hall.

Koedo Kurari is an improved facility of what used to be the building Kyūkagamiyama brewery established in 1875, with the atmosphere of the original brewery remaining to this day. The brewery, built through the Meiji, Taisho, and Shōwa period, has been remodeled and designated as one of Japan's registered tangible cultural properties along with the three warehouses: souvenir shop (Meijigura), Restaurant (Taishōgura), Japanese sake shop (Shōwagura), and meeting space (Tenjigura).
